Be Inspired in SFGate

The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco has reached Active Worlds. Head over to SFGate world and teleport to 61S 49W, face south.

A city within Active Worlds, SFGate has had her changes and adjusted well. From her humble start in 1999 to her changes in 2008 and 2010. One thing is for sure, the theme has always been "a city."

My goal for the world is to make it real and make my corner of Active Worlds, SFGate, rememble my beloved city of San Francisco. I have a landmark building that stands tall. And I share this with the community of Active Worlds.

The Making of a Replica

I sent a photo to Pelican of Pelican3d.com and he constructed this from that photo and made the models for me. This replica of the Palace of Fine Arts is a signature piece of Pelican's fine work. He truly is an artist with his eye for detail, style and design.

After weeks of tossing the idea around in my thoughts... where do I put it, and will tunablues find lag? I am happy to report no mirrors, to the pleasure of tuna and dreamer, were involved in this process, and onion rings only for baseball games. Garlic fries ARE OK, they're a must for multitasking... watching baseball and teleporting around Active Worlds - they're not verts and they do not cause one to have lag.

The Palace of Fine Arts is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, a worlds fair held in San Francisco between Febuary 20 & December 4 in 1915.

Learn more about about the palace and exposition on Wikipedia.

Growing up my family and I used to have family picnics on the grounds; I would wander off to feed the ducks, the pelicans and other wild sea birds.
