It's
that time again! Active Worlds celebrates its 11th Annual
Festival 2006! Celebration will kick off at AWEC
Airport in AWEC world November 6th at 5pm VRT.
The closing will be November 12th. at 5pm VRT! This year's
theme is "Flight 2006" International Community
Week, a fitting theme with all the recent updates in our
ever changing world and looking towards future. Also a
nice prelude to some pretty amazing changes, that we have
now, and one's to come.
Over the past eleven years the Active Worlds Community
has evolved from the bare bones programs of 1995, to the
cutting edge program we enjoy today. We went from a single
world to over 900 public and privately owned worlds. Our
ability to build is made easier and more exciting with
each release. Builders in Alpha World can now make their
objects move and rotate… coronas make builds glow…
and worlds are becoming more and more realistic. You can
only imagine what the future may hold. The possibilities
are endless! With the release of 4.1 we now can use other
new features as well.
Over the past eleven years the Community has grown and
become something extremely unique being comprised of citizens
and tourist of all ages, races, ethnic backgrounds, building
abilities, lifestyles and more. It is this very uniqueness
that makes Active Worlds the wonderful place it is today!
Without you, there would be no future, so we would like
to honor each and every one of you, who make Active Worlds
what it is today.
We will be celebrating International Community Week!
This gives all users of Active Worlds a chance to meet
citizens and tourist from around the globe. Everyone will
enter an international airport where they can go up to
a ticket booth, grab a ticket, and warp off to visit all
worlds that will be participating in this year's event.
