I always seem to find myself looking for things that are going on in Active Worlds or if what is going on is something that I would even be interested in. What made me want to find out more about Active Worlds was the New Year's Eve Party given by OneSummer in Broadway. I thought that was the most unique New Year’s Party I had been to yet and I didn’t have to drive anywhere (which is always a plus for me on New Year’s Eve).
I decided it was time to share with others just what is going on in the community of Active Worlds. Active Worlds is a community of people who have various interests. There is something going on for everyone. I would like this to be the start of the entertainment section of the newsletter. Each month I will feature a party, event, get together, games and other such activities. I may even look at different worlds and see what they have to offer for people wanting to go on dates, vacations, or even shopping sprees.
AWMix03 Party
Now, I had not been to AW in a while (I had a few computer issues). It took me some time but I finally got back into AW. The second day I was back in the AW environment, I get a telegram the minute I log on. It was from TaLLan informing me of a party in AWMix03 at 8pm VRT. I figured that I would go and see what was going on. I hadn’t been to an AW event in a while. What I found was some great fun for a Saturday night at home. There was awesome music from AWRawks as well as great conversations with some old and new friends. It was a relaxing time in the campgrounds.
Yes, I said campgrounds. The design of the area was wonderful. There were campfires with marshmallows. Barbecue grills were going with steaks and kabobs. Tents were set up with cots in them as well as shelves with more food stored for later camping events. TaLLan was at the ice cream bar had every sort of ice cream flavor as well as a few variations of the ice cream Sunday. Picnic tables had coffee, chips, soda, watermelon and the all-time favorite s'mores available.
As for things to do, some of us ladies changed into a swim suit and enjoyed a dip in the water. Some dared to jump off of the bridge into the water with their own types of diving styles. If diving or swimming wasn’t your thing, there were also some surfboards that could be used or even some fishing rods to try your hand at some relaxing pier fishing.
There were so many more things to explore there but if I told you everything, what would be the fun in that? TaLLan assured me that this fun would be available every Saturday at 8pm VRT in AWMix03.
