September 11 - A Time of Remembrance

On September 11, 2001, the world watched in horror as terrorists committed attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, NY, and the Pentagon in Washington D.C., killing thousands of innocent people, and changing our lives forever.

The Activeworlds Community immediately began to build memorials to these innocents in an expression of grief and sorrow. The Community’s show of unity and support was simply staggering. This has not changed over the past year; if anything, it has only grown stronger. In response to this, AWEC created a website that captured just a few out of the thousands of expressions of grief in the Activeworlds Community. To view the Activeworlds United Site, click here.

In addition, the Pippinville World Trade Center Memorial (aw 1962.7S 2581.6E 0.0a 266) will host a Day of Memory. Lady Pippin now has lots open for any who wish to build. This will continue 24 hours a day until September 11th.

September eleventh 2001 is a day no one will ever forget. It brought to the shores of the United States the horror of terrorism, which American people never had experience before. The major lost of lives of friends, love one's, fellow Americans and other peoples from around the world drove deep into our hearts and minds. As time moved forward this year we have all thought of that day. It made the American people view terrorism not as a problem in another country but now in their country. September Eleventh and Tenth Memorial World will have a two day remembrance and acknowledgment . If you would like to visit Memorial World these two days and express your feelings or thoughts please feel welcome . There are stars which surrounds a park area (Memorial 46S 9E) . You may whisper your message to the host on duty at that time to be posted there. Also explore the adjoining area which the communites left cards from last year.

September 11th 2001 was a day with more impact around the world then any other. Lives were made. Lives were broken. I'm sure that each and every one of us around the world were impacted by the tragic events on this day. AWDebate will be holding a special discussion on September 11th about the events surrounding the attack. The world will be open all day for people to stop in and talk about what they feel about the Sept. 11th attack. September 11th was a day that played a big part in many people's lives, stories will be told, emotions will be spilled. It is important that the rest of us stand together, tall, and support the people who's lives were changed forever. AWDebate is here, for those people.
