Changes are coming. Activeworlds, Inc. is about to introduce version 5.2 in which I am told there are some substantial changes. While I don't know the detail on what these changes may be I have it on good authority that there will be significant adjustments to the universe as we have known it.

No one really likes dealing with change especially when the change isn't your idea. This can sometimes lead to resentment and acting out and much of that occurs in violation of the guidelines which involves the Peacekeepers.

Welcome Wagon

Many of us are excited and anticipating whatever our friends in Newburyport Massachusetts have dreamed up. All of us, with a few exceptions, are really hoping that the new version will attract more users to our friendly little universe. Should the adjustments result in new people arriving all of us should go out of our way to make them as welcome as possible. The last thing we want to do is drive people away! We should never forget that more people  using Active Worlds results in additional income for the company and that could mean faster, better, and cooler adjustments to the program. In essence being a good welcome wagon is a win-win situation.

Go Wild

Once the change is here and you're not happy with it stop and ask yourself how you can embrace the change and make your experience better thereby. I suppose the best way to do that is to talk it out with your friends and better understand what is going down. This process is called sharing the experience. If you need a place to vent you can use the Active Worlds forum or if you must be obscene, go someplace like Wild AW where there is no Peacekeeper over watch.
