During the month of August Activeworlds, Inc. was forced
to shut the community newsgroups down because of a SPAM
attack on the server.
While this was unfortunate, a new form of community
discussion has been established to replace the newsgroups!
This
new forum will make it easier for everyone to access
an official message board, and also provides areas for
discussion of topics which have not always had a place
of their own.
How do I join?
It's easy to get started. All active citizen accounts
have been copied to the forum. However, for an unknown
reason your user passwords would not import into the forum
database.
Our simple solution to this is to use the "Forgot
Password" feature to have a new password e-mailed
to you. It sends information to the e-mail address you
listed in your citizen options. You can then login into
your account and change your forum password to whatever
you'd like.
Consult this
thread for specific information. If you have multiple
accounts with the same e-mail or have any other problems
you can use the "Contact Us" link on the forums
for help.
What can I do differently here?
The new AW Forum is a full-fledged online forum with
capabilities of most of your other favorite forums. Threads
and posts are organized in a better way. You can use emoticons
and post with basic HTML commands (such as bold, italics,
pictures, URLs, etc).
There are more forums than there were newsgroups - so
there's a place for everyone! From programming, to troubleshooting,
and general discussion each with their own sub-topics,
there's always a good place for your post!
