Get To Know Your Neighbors!

We think it would be great if everyone got a chance to get to know some of the volunteers in the community, and to find out why they love AW so much. This month we're highlighting the Gatekeeper of the Month, Vindicator III!

If there's a volunteer you'd like to see us highlight, let us know!

Meet VindicatorIII!

So just who is this VindicatorIII guy anyway? A good question and well presented. I think that right here at the outset of this little tale I have to say a great big thank you to all my wonderful GK friends in AW. Thank you for voting for me as GK of the Month, thank you for all the help, fun and pleasure you have all given me, thank you for listening to me when I have been depressed and above all, thank you each and every one for your friendship. And although I know that everyone says it, I really do not think I deserve to be GK of the Month but I am very proud and honoured to have been selected.

As to who I am, well in real life I am a 52-year old guy called John, who was born and raised here in London, England. My mother was English and my father was an American who was born in Pennsylvania. Both my parents are now dead but I could not have wished for better. I am currently employed as the Manager of a very busy motorcycle workshop here in London. Just today we have bought a second shop and this is going to require a supreme effort by all our staff to make it a success. The 'bike industry is booming here but it is still very hard work. I have many tasks at work and with the new shop come new responsibilities. I have been the Web Master for the company for some time now. I am completely self-taught when it comes to HTML and my site is not the most spectacular by any means but I get a lot of good comments about it and my boss likes it and is impressed with the monthly 'hit' rate. I have just signed a contract to have an online e-commerce shop and I have only 10 days to get 500 items photographed and described and uploaded onto the 'net. Phew! I am sure I can do it. I am? Am I? I can? Can I? Time alone will tell I suppose.

I also take care of all the hiring and firing, the legal matters, the contracts of employment, customer relations, I am the First Aid representative and tea boy!

In the past I worked with my father in the building industry as a plumber before joining the British Army where I learned to be a Helicopter and Aeroplane mechanic. And quite a good one too, I think. I have done some parachute jumps, initially to raise money for charity, and I used to race motorcycles. I have a 30 year old daughter by my first failed marriage and two grand-daughters from my daughter. I have a 7 year old daughter from this my second, and also failing marriage. Not a good track record so far. As a person I guess that I am pretty much the same in real life as I am in AW. I like to be honest at all times. I get very easily hurt and depressed, something I wish I could change but I can't. I wear my heart on my sleeve and fall in love far too easily. I mean in real life. I do not have love affairs on the Internet. Why not? Well, because there are just too many really lovely girls online and it would be impossible to single one out to fall in love with. I love them all equally and would never want to hurt any of them.

I have many hopes and wishes for my life and the future and I have many hobbies. Most of this is well covered on my personal web site and I would be most honoured if my friends would have a look at it when they get a moment. It is totally clean with nothing rude or crude on it. https://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/4358

And finally, I love chatting online and go to many chat rooms. But my favourite is of course, AW. And that is enough about me I think. Thank you all once more for everything.
