In this new series, long-time Peacekeeper Lensman helps you make the most of public services available in the Active Worlds universe.
When you sign on to any virtual world you agree to abide by the guidelines established by the world and/or universe owner. The Active Worlds guidelines apply only to the public worlds they own and administer. These are the ones referred to as the "public worlds." These public worlds are the ones patrolled by Peacekeepers (AlphaWorld, Mars, etc.).
Peacekeepers have no authority in any other (private) worlds unless the owner of that world requests coverage. AWI grants Peacekeepers administrative privileges to enforce their guidelines only on the public worlds. Enforcement applies not only to conduct but content as well. Peacekeepers receive training in conflict management. The reason for this training is to avoid ejecting users. Sometimes it is necessary, though Peacekeepers strive to avoid it if at all possible.
You can read the guidelines at these web addresses

Peacekeeper Coverage for Your World
A world owner who wants Peacekeeper coverage can request it from this web address: https://www.peacekeeper.net/contact.php.
In addition the world owner must grant the Peacekeeper account the following rights: eject and bot privileges. The owner must have the world open to the general public; however, the world does not need to be open to tourists.
Peacekeepers are all volunteers and the organization stresses service so that our virtual reality experience is a pleasant one free of grieving. Part of the job is enforcing the guidelines.
If you are a world owner, even if you have Peacekeeper coverage, you can eject anyone you please. If the Peacekeeper does it a report gets filed and that is something the world owner need not worry about.
