Peacekeeper Tips

Many of the fabulous builds in Active Worlds like South West City are group efforts. However, every now and then, group builds develop disagreements resulting in a Peacekeeper becoming involved.

Claiming the land is the most important first move the owner of the build must take. This was covered in a previous PK Tips. It is restated here for emphasis.

Often a group will assist a citizen in a build. Before starting a group, build rules must be in place and agreed to by all members. When a single account is used the owner of the account must give his or her Privilege Password (PPW) to the builders. The builders using the account must understand that whatever they build will belong to the owner of the PPW.

Change the PPW each session

The best practice in this case is for the owner to give out the PPW at the beginning of a build session and then change the PPW when the session is over. Changing the PPW will lock down the build. Using a different PPW each session will prevent damage should a member of the group become disenchanted and take it out on the project. When a group member becomes unhappy, changing the PPW effectively removes them from the builder group.

If you give your PPW to any one for any reason be sure to change it right after the other person finishes whatever they are doing for you. Don't forget that whatever another person does with your PPW you are responsible because it's your account on the line.
