Therapy World Opens

.

Therapy is a place where people can interact with each other in real time, talking with professional staff in order to gain therapeutic assistance, advice, information and education. Its services are offered at no cost to the user. The staff of Therapy use a variety of ways to communicate with clients. These include e-mail, chat, direct support and guidance in virtual world context, web-based voice and web cam.

Using these strategies the staff of Therapy use various therapeutic models to best manage client problems. These include cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, crisis intervention strategies and supportive counselling. Importantly the staff of Therapy seek to work with the client in a collaborative and confidential manner to achieve resolution of the problems

Staff of the Therapy world are certified and registered mental health professionals volunterring their services online. Each staff member has to submit full and complete curriculum vitae with copies of their registration and qualifications. These are checked prior to them undertaking work in Therapy World. In addition, each staff member undergoes a training program focusing on 'Counselling online'.

Web pages are available here that describe in detail the services that Therapy World has to offer the AW community.
