Winter Theme Park Competition

WINTER'S 1st Annual 2009 Theme Park Competition

Winter Theme Park Competition GZ

Time to join in on the fun! The competition started on the 26th of June, but
there is still time to join and play! The deadline to join is July 23rd.
Teams should have their builds nearly completed by July 24th, and are
allowed to spend time tweaking and polishing their builds until August 9th
(the official end of the competition).

Teams will be building themed areas consisting of smaller parks, gift shops,
vendors, and rides in a larger Winter style theme park. Teams will have 24
cells worth of space to compete in with neighboring teams working right next
door to them. Teams will have all features of the browser to work with,
including terrain rights. The only exception is bot rights.

Great news! You spoke and we listened! Teams may now consist of between 1
and 4 citizens. Now those solo builders have a chance to compete and
possibly win if they wish! Teams need to sign up by posting on the Winter
sub-forum of the official AWI forums
. Once the team posts a list of members
and the theme they wish to reserve, they will be given a privilege account
and password and may begin building right away. The competition area is
located in Winter at 0N 1497W.

Prizes were announced May 29th, and generously contributed by AWI. They
consist of 6 to 12 month citizen extensions, P-10 worlds and V4 Rights.

1st place Team: (12 months of Citizenship OR a 6 month P-10/5) per team
member

2nd place Team: (8 months of Citizenship OR a 4 month P-10/5) per team
member

3rd Place Team: (6 months of Citizenship OR a 3 month P-10/5) per team
member

Judging should begin the week after the August 9th completion date. First,
second and third prizes will be judged by Talisan (#296829), MaxPoly
(#299422) and maki (#337845). Judges will score the builds between 1 and 10
(10 being best) in inventiveness, quality, and use of the theme. These
numbers will then be averaged for each category and then added together to
create a score between 3.0 and 30.0. The top 3 scores will be the winners.
If there should be a tie, then AWI will make the final decision between
those teams that tied. V4 Rights (1 AWI world only) will be granted to all
top rated Teams as judged by AWI.

Teams will have an area 24 cells in size to build 2 rides, 1 restaurant, a
street of gift shops, 2 concession stands, 1 set of restrooms, 1 small park
and 1 rest area... all of which can overlap and co-mingle.

The Caretakers of Winter and AWI would like to invite everyone to join in
this competition no matter what their skill level. Competitors have nothing
to lose, but could win toys (worlds and v4 rights) and win up to a year of
citizenship in Active Worlds!
