Hi there,

Just got my e-mail telling me i'm GK of the month, (talk about shock) i cant for the life of me imagine why i was voted, but all the same its quite a good feeling i'm really quite touched that i was thought of by fellow GK's they really are a great bunch.

I've been asked to tell you a little about myself for the newsletter or something, not sure what i'm supposed to say but, here goes, I'm from England, i have 3 children & a grandson, i love coming to AW, since i downloaded the programme i have spoken so many really nice people from all over the world, some i have met & some i would like to meet, even the ones i havent met feel like real freinds & i cant imagine not being able to speak to them now. And as for being a GK i remember when i first used the programme & the GK's were so helpful i was always looking for them until i got used to it, so its nice to be able to help people when they first visit the place.

Meet Darian Knight

Hello,

My name is Darian Knight and I have been an active member of the AW Universe for about 2 years.

When I first arrived in Active Worlds, I did my share of simply walking around and exploring. During that time I noticed that many people were trying their best to create a "nightclub" type place with music for people to hang out in, but I was greatly unhappy with their attempts.

For one, I just don't like MIDI music. And the biggest reason was the lack of overall functionality in the objects. Objects in VR (IMO) should be of some use instead of all for looks.

The result of this unhappiness led me to begin building what is now one of the most complete nightclubs in the AW Universe. I call it The Crackerjack Club.

It has taken me many attempts and small changes to make it the perfect VR Nightclub, and following the suggestions of my close friends (Cybernome, John Viper, etc..) I added some thing here and there, a working arcade, working phone booths, streaming music, bar games and more...

Now that these few years are through I am finally realizing that the end of my long project is in site. Two years in the making and it includes just about everything an AW user could want or need.

Located in the quiet world of CoFMeta/Metatropolis, The Crackerjack Club is now the place that I call home. It's in close range to a Transit Station (created by Cybernome) and features all of the amenities one could want.

I highly reccommend a visit, if not to chat then to see what kind of new fangled inventions I have created for the use of all of the citizens.

While it may not be another Cyberville (MPL Cybernome) or City of Time (Time Travler) it is worth a look. I am open to suggestions for anything my visitors would want so feel free to telegram me to let me know.

By the way, the phones REALLY work. Give tham a try, you won't be dissappointed :)
