Get to Know Your Neighbors!

We think it would be great if everyone got a chance to get to know some of the volunteers in the community and to find out why they love AW so much.

This month we meet Class 3 also known as PK67.

PK Safety Tip: AW downloads tons of content to your computer. Running a firewall and an updated (check updates daily) virus program is a really good investment in the health and safety of your computer system. Visit the PK Hall of Security (AW 12001.2S 12063.3W 1.3a 180) to learn more about how to "surf in safety."

Class 3 discovered Active Worlds through an online friend. As he recalled, "A friend in ICQ introduced AW to me and I bookmarked the URL. Several months later a woman from Canada randomly messaged me on ICQ, and made a poor attempt in scaring me. After chatting in ICQ for a few months, I suggested to her that we both download Active Worlds and meet there. Upon arrival at the Gate at the same time, it took the Gatekeeper 15 minutes to get us to 'see' each other. That was how I met this Canadian woman, 'Energiser' :. We went to the world called Canada and in there we encountered a citizen named Canuck Cat who showed us how to navigate around Active Worlds. I was convinced very easily and quickly to become a citizen of AW. I started my first build on September 9, 1998 only to be tormented ruthlessly by 'Energiser' 'giggle', who was still a tourist and refused to become a citizen until I made my first 'house.' She is now a respected citizen in Active Worlds."

Class 3 became a citizen on September 8, 1998 during his initial visit in AW. He became a Peacekeeper in 1999 after an incident when one of his daughters was intensely harassed and stalked. A Peacekeeper, whom he met through building, performed an excellent job handling the case. Class 3 was so impressed that he decided to apply to the Peacekeeper Organization. When asked on what he liked most about being a PK, he said, "I'm still figuring this one out < ;o)"

Class 3 is a floater PK, that means he doesn't have scheduled hours to fulfill his PK commitment, but he is always available to handle any emergency when he is in AW. Which is pretty much, as he says, "Whenever I feel like it." Due to his excellent investigation skills and report writing techniques, Class 3 became a member of the PK Special Response Team (SRT) right out of the very first graduating class of the PK Academy. Soon he became knowledgeable about Trojans/viruses, computers, cyber-stalking and other cyber-nuisances. He now leads the SRT having been recently promoted to SRT Head. SRT handles the most difficult PK cases that include, but not limited to, harassment on a major level, vandalism of privately owned worlds and hacking of citizen accounts. They work directly with users and world owners, review logs and any available information. They also help world owners and users with technical and security issues as well.

Class 3 is also a world owner in AW. Unfortunately, his world Enigma is still a closed world. He can be found building intensely there as well as other worlds while he is free from his obligations in AW. His very first object is walk12h.rwx located in aw at 2302.09N 929.31W 0.00a 271.

Outside of AW Class 3 is the father of two beautiful daughters and spends most of his spare time in fly-fishing, lobster fishing and maintaining a business, Diverse Computer Solutions.

His message to all tourists and citizens of AW is, "The Special Response Team is an online community dedicated to the following: We are those that walk without fear!!"

Also---

"Don't take yourselves too seriously..."
