Meet Tigerdawn - GK Of The Month

Well to start off I live in the frozen north...North Dakota to be exact and almost out of the US. I live in a small town just south of Canada. I live here with my new hubby and our 3 kids.

I have been in AW since Feb 21 1999. I was a tourist for all of say 3 hours hehehe. I was introduced to AW by my sis in law. She was building a place with a friend and invited me to come see it. Took a bit of work to get on and stay on however. Fortunately for me the GK program was there to save the day. The GK told my sis in law what to do to not overwhelm my pc and she told me via the ICQ. When I finally was able to stay in I was amazed. It was the coolest looking thing I had ever seen...well except for the tourist avs, they were kind of lame looking.

Anyway to make a long story longer. My sis in law got me from the gate to her first build. I walked around the place and chatted with her for the 3 hours I was a tourist. It looked like great fun and I already had an interest in 3D building and this was far better than any program I had on my pc. I spent the next year or so building a city with my sis and ummm four houses a cabin and a couple of dance clubs (still in the works) plus a few other builds.

I was getting bored with both building and not really having people to talk with while I did that so I started to hang out at the gate. Mostly a lurker at first just sat back and watched everyone. I was quite impressed with the helpful nature of the GK's. I am the type of person that loves to help people so seemed like something I would enjoy doing. Sooooo I stood in front of the "you want to be a Gatekeeper" sign and *slaps forehead* asked the GK on how to become a GK.

Well I filled out the application and waited and waited and waited. Well I figured my lack of time at the gate put the kabosh on my attempts to become a GK but still hung out and tried to help if I could. About the time I gave up I got a telegram from Skyee asking me to interview with her. I was up and out of my chair running around my house like a crazed woman. (no wise cracks please..*giggle*) OP was a great teacher and he got me off on the right foot. Well the rest is history I guess.

Besides working and lurking at the gate (surprise I do do other things ..but only if I have to. *giggle*) I am a MA [medical assistant] and an EMT [emergency medical technician]. I work on the local ambulance and have just started to work on the next level of EMT. I have 3 kids, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and a hubby. (saved the best for last =^-^=) I have a very strange sense of humor, and it has gotten me in some odd situations on occasion as has my gift for gab. *lmao*

I am thrilled to be part of such a great group of people. Thank you for giving me the honor of working with you all.
