Asheville has something for everyone: a wide variety of cultural offerings, shopping, and outdoor activities. Asheville is also known for its mountain beauty, mild weather, quality of life, and friendly people. Situated in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville rests at an altitude of 2300 feet, nestled between more than 100 peaks over 5,000 feet. Mount Mitchell, just a short drive from Asheville, is the highest point east of the Mississippi. Asheville is divided by two rivers the Swananoa and French Broad River portions of the French Broad River are favorite spots for kayaking and white water rafting

Some of the events that are scheduled for the reunion Are: a converging on Asheville BBQ Lake Lure Marina &Park, later that evening a relaxing cruise on Lake Lure.Step on board these luxurious boats and visit the blockbuster hit Dirty Dancing film site, delight in mountain legends and breathtaking views. 25 miles southeast of Asheville. Lake Lure is ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. With Dinner at one of the Lake side spots.. Lake Lure has paddle boats, rafts, inter tubes, water slides, miniature golf course to just name a few things..
